The Redline Team Appears on KJLH-FM to Talk About The Lasting Effects of Redlining

Recently, we were in studio at radio station KLJH in Inglewood, CA, alongside Tunua Thrash-Ntuk of the Greenlining Institute, for a conversation on the lasting impact of redlining in Black and minority communities. Tunua explained how discriminatory lending practices from the 1930s still shape today’s access to capital, homeownership, and small business funding for Black and brown communities and how organizations like Greenlining are working to reverse that legacy.

We shared the mission behind The Redline Venice, the only Black-owned hotel in Venice Beach and how the boutique property doubles as a cultural storytelling space, with suites designed to honor the history and contributions of Venice’s Black community. Through art, design, and community centered initiatives, The Redline Hotel Group is reclaiming space, preserving overlooked history, and creating pathways for future generational wealth.
