The Redline Hotel Group was recently featured on Spectrum News in a story by journalist Lisa Ling, exploring the Black history of Venice Beach and the people whose contributions have too often been left out of its story.
Arthur Reese and Irving Tabor were two Black collaborators handpicked by Venice founder Abbot Kinney to help bring his vision for the city to life. Their work helped shape the Venice we know today, yet their stories have remained largely untold.
As the only Black-owned beachfront hotel in Venice Beach, The Redline was created to give these stories a place within the community they helped build, while continuing that legacy through Black ownership and hospitality today.
